The Eagles are up 31 points, have had a punt return and interception return for touchdowns, and Mark Sanchez is lighting up the Panthers defense. But the guy putting together the most impressive highlight package is probably Connor Barwin.
Connor Barwin is tossing Panthers offensive linemen all over the field
The Panthers offensive line will not want to watch the film from Monday night’s blowout in Philadelphia.
Barwin has been credited with 3.5 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and 8 tackles total. Beyond the box score, however, he's embarrassing the Panthers offensive line, chucking them all over the field. There was this destruction of Amini Silatolu
There have been several instances of defensive lineman tossing aside blockers this season, most recently Gerald McCoy running through the Browns center. This was just as bad, and looked like a play from Breaking Madden.
Barwin continued showing up the Panthers offensive line in the second half as well. In this instance, it was Nate Chandler who was put on his rear on Barwin's way to another sack and forced fumble.
We already knew the Panthers offensive line was not a strong point, and Newton has been sacked seven times in less than three full quarters. But the way they’re being shown up, particularly by one Eagles rusher, is what’s so startling about this Monday night blowout.
