Fred Jackson's lingering groin issue will keep him out of another game. The Buffalo Bills running back has been declared inactive Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins.

The veteran running back looks to be the casualty of a short rest.

Jackson was listed as questionable coming in and reports emerged Thursday afternoon suggesting the veteran may not suit up. He originally injured his groin in Week 7 and missed the following game against the New York Jets. Jackson returned after a Week 9 bye and faced the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, but played just 27 of 73 snaps (three carries for 10 yards).
The 33-year-old Jackson faced a four-day turnaround in order to play Thursday.
The Bills will instead rely on Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown. Dixon has been the primary back since Jackson's injury, carrying 31 times for 106 yards over the last two games. Brown, though, will get the start Thursday night. He tallied his first touch of the season against the Jets and broke out against the Chiefs last week, combining for 100 yards from scrimmage on the ground and through the air.
