What happened to just getting your mouth washed out with soap? New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has been fined an incredible $100,000 by the NFL for shouting the F-bomb following his team's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, according to NFL.com.
Rex Ryan fined $100K for F-bomb
Six figures for just four letters.

The fine is so high because Ryan is a repeat offender. He was fined $75,000 by the NFL in 2011 for cursing at a fan and $50,000 by the Jets in 2010 for flipping the bird in a photograph.
Ryan's expletive came as he trotted onto the field after the final whistle, and despite the fact that his team had just won its first game since the season opener, he had a good reason to cuss. As the Jets knelt down on the game's final play, Pittsburgh safety Mike Mitchell came flying over the top of the line in an unnecessary and dangerous attempt at Michael Vick.
Unsurprisingly, Ryan didn’t appreciate it, later calling the move “bush league” and saying he was disappointed in Mitchell. It’s not clear if his resulting F-bomb was directed at the Steelers or the refs.
Ryan laughed off his profane reaction in the postgame presser.
“I think I was saying, ‘Thank you,’” he joked. “Obviously, I’ve got to do a good job of controlling my emotions. Things happen. I’m sorry if I offended anybody.”
