While the San Francisco 49ers were saving their season in Week 10, the New York Giants continued to watch theirs crumble before their very eyes. The 49ers rallied late to make it to overtime with the New Orleans Saints before linebacker Ahmad Brooks sacked quarterback Drew Brees and forced a fumble.
49ers vs. Giants 2014 picks and predictions: San Francisco should run over New York
The San Francisco 49ers look to keep their playoff push going while the New York Giants look to salvage what’s left of their disastrous season.

Rookie linebacker Chris Borland jumped on the loose ball, and Phil Dawson then booted in a 35-yard field goal to give San Francisco an improbable 27-24 win. Their record improved to 5-4 with a brutal set of games coming up. Of the 49ers' seven remaining games, only three are against teams with a record under .500.
Unfortunately for the Giants, they are one of them after watching a three-point second-half lead evaporate as the Seattle Seahawks scored 24 straight points in a 38-17 blowout. Seattle ran over New York to the tune of 350 rushing yards, the most in a game since the Kansas City Chiefs rushed for 352 yards in Week 16 of 2012 against the Indianapolis Colts. Seattle rushed for more yards than the Giants gained total yards (324).
Seeing that, it comes as no surprise the G-men enter this game with the NFL’s worst run defense while surrendering 144.7 yards per game. On the other side, the 49ers thrive off of their physical ground game that ranks ninth with 122.2 rushing yards per contest.
So, what are the experts saying about this game?
The CBS Sports panel mostly went with the Niners, as seven of eight picked San Francisco, and senior NFL columnist Pete Prisco seems to believe this will be a close game, picking San Francisco to win in a narrow, 30-27 game:
This will be the second long road trip in two weeks for the 49ers. That’s tiring. But the Giants are reeling, particularly on defense. They can’t stop anybody. But the consecutive road games will be a factor here and the Giants will keep it close.
However, the entire SB Nation staff agreed on one team, and they're all siding with the 49ers:
