Reggie Bush out vs. Cardinals with ankle injury

Joique Bell and Theo Riddick will handle rushing duties for the Lions in Week 11.

Reggie Bush reinjured his ankle against the Miami Dolphins last week and will sit out in Week 11 to recover from the injury, leaving the Detroit Lions with Joique Bell and Theo Riddick at running back for a big game against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Lions made the decision to sit Bush this week against Arizona, although he is expected to be healthy and ready for a Week 12 road game against the New England Patriots.

Bush, 29, missed two games earlier in the season with an ankle injury before re-aggravating it in Week 10, forcing him out of the lineup once again. He finished with just four carries for 20 yards in his return from injury.

It has been a down year for Bush, who tallied over 3,000 yards rushing in the three seasons prior to 2014. In seven games played in 2014, Bush has just 191 rushing yards and 169 receiving yards for the Lions. Bell has 357 yards rushing and three touchdowns for the Lions, although he has racked up more than double the rushing attempts that Bush has.

The Cardinals are ranked third in the NFL at stopping the run and have allowed the fifth-fewest amount of points.
