Update: NFL spokesman Michael Signora said that the Saints have been in compliance on the Davis situation, according to an update from Schefter.
Saints’ roster move investigated, found to be in compliance
The New Orleans Saints were investigated by the league after preventing the Denver Broncos from getting in touch with a recently claimed player.

The New Orleans Saints could be in trouble with the NFL, as the league is investigating a recent situation involving linebacker Todd Davis and his release, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The Saints apparently "stashed" Davis in their training facility after releasing him, preventing the Denver Broncos from contacting him after they claimed him off waivers.
The Saints waived Davis with the intention of signing him to their practice squad, so they kept him in team meetings. The Broncos claimed Davis the day he was released and wanted to bring him to Denver on Friday for a practice session, but they were unable to make contact with him.
They were unable to get Davis in there for practice until Saturday. Now the NFL is looking into whether or not the Saints broke some rules by keeping Davis around. It’s possible they didn’t think Davis would get claimed since teams shuffle rosters pretty consistently, with some players likely never leaving the premises while these moves are happening.
Still, the Saints could be facing a “stiff fine,” according to Schefter. Intentional or not, causing a team to not be able to contact a player has to rank pretty highly on the list of things you can’t do in the NFL.
