Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas has injured his ankle against the St. Louis Rams and is questionable to return, the team has announced.
Julius Thomas out with injured ankle
The Broncos tight end won’t return against the Rams.

UPDATE: Thomas has been ruled out for the game.
Thomas, who leads the NFL with 12 touchdown receptions this season, had two receptions for 3 yards before exiting. With Virgil Green out with a calf injury, Jacob Tamme is Denver's only remaining healthy tight end. Green, who typically works as the second tight end in heavy packages, has missed the last two games. Tamme, who played with Peyton Manning in Indianapolis, has just six receptions for 57 yards this season but has scored twice.
Thomas’s loss is a blow to a Broncos team that finds themselves in a surprising 10-0 hole early against the Rams. Thomas ranks third on the team in both receptions and yards.
Denver is also missing running back Montee Ball, who is also questionable to return. Ball, who had just returned from injury, appears to have aggravated a groin issue.
