In the thick of their respective playoff races, the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans will meet for an important clash on Sunday afternoon. Philadelphia is 5-2 after a last-minute defeat against the Arizona Cardinals but caught a break in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys falling to Washington. Houston topped the Tennessee Titans to improve to 4-4, moving to within one game of the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts.

Philadelphia tries to rebound after a tough loss while Houston attempts to stay in the AFC playoff picture.

The Eagles went away from the running game on Sunday, allowing Nick Foles to throw 62 times while LeSean McCoy garnered only 21 rushes. McCoy averaged 4 yards per carry and the game was within one score throughout, but coach Chip Kelly went skyward instead. Foles threw for 411 yards but was intercepted twice, giving him nine on the season after throwing only two last year. Philadelphia is in the midst of a rough stretch of its schedule, facing the Cowboys twice along with the Packers, Panthers and Seahawks over the next six weeks.
Houston has the perception of struggling to throw the ball, but the Texans actually rank ninth in yards per attempt at 7.8 yards with Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm. Fitzpatrick has taken advantage of big-bodied receivers in Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins with 551 and 569 receiving yards, respectively. The pass attack is helped tremendously by Arian Foster, who is second in the NFL with 766 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, the pass defense checks in at 28th, allowing 271.4 yards per game.
