LSU football fans didn’t have much to be happy about last Saturday night after their team got manhandled by the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 17-0 loss dropped the Tigers to 7-4 on the season and 3-4 in SEC play. Fortunately, LSU football fans looking for a pick-me-up last week got one watching four LSU alums putting on a show in the NFL, all rookies too.
4 rookies from LSU lighting up the NFL
It’s rare to have more than one offensive skill position player from the same school make a sudden impact in the NFL, but four studs from LSU went wild in Week 11.

Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry got the party started right Thursday night against the Bills. In a game Miami desperately needed to win in order to stay in the hunt for the AFC East crown and a playoff berth, Landry caught five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown on a quick out route where he broke two tackles to get in the endzone. His touchdown, the third of which he has caught so far this season, helped put the game out of reach and secure the win for Miami.
In Cleveland Sunday, Texans rookie running back Alfred Blue, making his second start filling in for Arian Foster, had by far his best showing this year, rushing 36 times for 156 yards to help his team get a much needed win on the road. With the Colts losing Sunday night and falling to 6-4, the Texans are now just one game back in the AFC South at 5-5 thanks to that win. And Blue deserves a lot of credit for having his big day when they needed him the most.
The Bengals also got a much needed road win in New Orleans Sunday behind the outstanding work of another rookie running back out of LSU. In Cincy's case, it was Jeremy Hill toting the rock 27 times for 152 yards in a 27-10 win over the Saints. It was Hill's second 150-plus-yard performance in three games and he showed the team is in good hands with starter Gio Bernard out nursing an injury. With the win, the Bengals jumped back in to first place over the Steelers in the AFC North.
Unfortunately, Beckham Jr.'s late game heroics, which included a 25-yard punt return preceding the drive on which he made that incredible catch, were not enough to overcome his quarterback Eli Manning completely crapping the bed and throwing five interceptions in the loss.
They didn’t all win, but each one of those four rookies out of LSU gave a winning effort in their respective contests. Most college teams don’t even have four rookies that make an NFL roster, let alone put up those kinds of numbers in one week. For LSU fans, it may not have completely taken way the sting from the loss to Arkansas, but I bet seeing those guys ball helped a little.
