Good news for Peyton Manning: both wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and tight end Julius Thomas made their return to Denver Broncos practice on Friday.
Julius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders back at Broncos practice, Jordan Cameron ruled out
Get up to date with Friday’s latest injury reports.
Sanders has been cleared for physical activity through the post-concussion protocol, according to team columnist Andrew Mason, but isn’t back to taking hits yet. He’s listed as probable. Thomas’ outlook doesn’t appear quite as optimistic. The tight end looked “shaky“ and ”very limited” on his injured ankle and is listed as questionable.
The Broncos will for sure be without their top two running backs: Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman have both been ruled out.
Cameron ruled out
The good news for the Browns is that Jordan Cameron returned to practice for the first time in three weeks on Friday*. The bad news is that he won't be ready to go Sunday when the Cleveland plays the Atlanta Falcons. The star tight end has been ruled out on the team's official injury report.
(*The Browns’ injury report says Cameron did not practice, but multiple sources, including Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, have confirmed he took part in practice.)
Still, Cleveland fans can take heart in the fact that he’s back on the practice field. There have been whispers that Cameron’s concussion -- his third in a two-year span -- could sideline him for the rest of the season.
Brian Hoyer will be getting a major weapon back this weekend nonetheless: Josh Gordon returned from his 10-game suspension this week.
Giovani Bernard listed as probable
The Cincinnati Bengals should finally have their leading rusher back on the field Sunday against the Houston Texans. Bernard, who missed the last three games with collarbone and hip injuries, was a full practice participant for the second day in a row on Friday and is listed as probable.
It will be interesting to see how the Bengals distribute carries with Bernard back. Rookie Jeremy Hill averaged 120 yards per outing in three games as the starter and has likely earned a significant share of the carries. While having two dependable running backs is great for the Bengals, it’s not so great for your fantasy team.
Larry Fitzgerald is questionable
Drew Stanton has impressed while filling in for Carson Palmer, but he may have to do so Sunday without his 6'3, 218-pound security blanket. Fitzgerald missed Arizona Cardinals practice for a third consecutive day on Friday and is officially listed as questionable.
The culprit is a sprained left knee suffered last week against the Detroit Lions. Fitzgerald, who has played in 110 consecutive regular-season games, said Thursday that he's "optimistic" about playing.
“I’ll do everything I can to be out there,” he told the team’s website.
