Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett is one tough son of a gun after he reportedly played with a torn pectoral muscle against the Cincinnati Bengals. According to multiple media reports, the muscle injury may end his season. The Houston Chronicle's John McClain reports Mallett suffered the injury in a Week 11 win over the Cleveland Browns, while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says he got hurt during pregame warmups prior to the Bengals game.
Ryan Mallett injury: Texans QB played through a torn pectoral, per reports
The Texans may have lost Ryan Mallett for the rest of the NFL season just two games after he was named the starting quarterback.

Either way, the Texans may have seen their playoff hopes end in Week 12 in more ways than one. Not only did they lose at home to the Bengals to fall to 5-6 and two games behind the wild card spots, but they may have also lost their starting quarterback in the process.
Regardless of when the injury happened, it looks as though Houston will be forced to go back to Ryan Fitzpatrick after benching him ahead of the team's Week 10 bye. Fitz went 4-5 as the team's starter.
