Anquan Boldin calls Jim Haslett ‘irrelevant’ after sideline altercation

The wide receiver and defensive coordinator exchanged words late in the Washington-49ers game.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Anquan Boldin doesn't think much of Washington defensive coordinator Jim Haslett after the two got into a verbal altercation on the sideline late in the Niners' 17-13 victory.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Boldin made a game-changing reception to convert a fourth down and was hit late out of bounds by Washington safety Ryan Clark. Boldin responded by shoving Clark (who was injured on the play) off of him, after which Haslett stepped into Boldin’s face and the two exchanged words. A ref had to step between the two and break it up.

“I don’t know. Guy tried to hit me late on a sideline, and I pushed him off of me, and he had some words for whatever reason,” Boldin said after the game, according to Niners Nation. “I don’t even give that a second thought. He’s irrelevant.”

The 49ers would go on to score the go-ahead touchdown on that drive. Boldin finished with nine grabs for 137 yards and a touchdown.

Here’s the footage of the incident:
