There aren't many experts willing to go out on a limb to predict a Tampa Bay Buccaneers win over the Cincinnati Bengals. In fact, of the 35 members of the four panels we regularly monitor (SB Nation, ESPN, Fox Sports and CBS Sports), only two are going with the Bucs at home.
NFL picks and predictions, Bengals vs. Buccaneers 2014: Cincy a near-unanimous favorite
The Bengals are back in the groove after back-to-back wins and should have an easy time against the two-win Bucs.
The Bengals have gotten back on track after a disastrous Week 10 loss to Cleveland, dropping New Orleans and Houston in each of the last two weeks. While their offense has seen a major turnaround since mustering just three points against the Browns, it's been the defense that's carrying the team. They've given up just 23 points in the last two games combined and held the Saints and Texans each well under 100 yards rushing.
That's a bad sign for the Bucs, who had just 66 yards on the ground last week against Chicago. Despite holding the Bears to 204 total yards, Tampa Bay allowed 21 points thanks to four turnovers. The Bucs have coughed up the ball more than any team save for the Eagles, thanks largely to inconsistent play from the rotating quarterback duo of Josh McCown and Mike Glennon (McCown will start Sunday).
It’s a clean sweep at SB Nation, where all seven of our experts plus the OddsShark computer are picking the Bengals to improve to 8-3-1.
