Bye weeks are now a thing of the past, but the slate of Sunday games is still short a couple contests as the NFL played three Thursday games on Thanksgiving. The Detroit Lions took down the Chicago Bears, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks dominated the San Francisco 49ers, in three matchups with massive playoff implications.
NFL TV schedule, Week 13: Patriots vs. Packers, Broncos vs. Chiefs headline Sunday games
The AFC West could be decided on “Sunday Night Football,” while the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots will fight to stay ahead of their respective divisions in Week 13.
But there’s plenty worth paying attention to on Sunday as well. In the early games, the headline matchup is probably the tilt between the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens. Both teams are 7-4, while the Chargers are trying to catch up to the Denver Broncos in the AFC West and the Ravens are trying to fight off the rest of the AFC North. The AFC North is the most competitive division in football, with every team at seven wins, but neither club can afford to lose that game.
In the afternoon, there’s a huge game between the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers. Green Bay is atop the NFC North, but a loss to the Patriots would drop them into a tie with the aforementioned Lions. The Patriots are 9-2, tied with the Arizona Cardinals for the best record in the NFL, and have a three-game lead in the AFC East.
For Sunday Night Football, the Broncos and Chiefs will face off in a big AFC West showdown that could well decide the division when it’s all said and done. The Broncos have a one-game lead over the Chiefs and the aforementioned Chargers, so there is little margin for error for Denver.
