Bears vs. Packers: Betting odds, preview, prediction

Green Bay Packers look to continue divisional dominance at home hosting the Chicago Bears.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are 9-1-1 SU and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games against NFC North opponents. The Packers host a division rival this Sunday night with the Chicago Bears coming to town.

Green Bay is a 7-point favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The team’s track record against divisional opponents along with Chicago’s current struggles make the Packers look like a strong play this Sunday night as the home favorite.

Entering New Orleans on a 4-0 SU and ATS run, many believed that the Packers could pull off the road upset against the streaky Saints. Instead, Green Bay was pummeled 44-23 heading into its bye week. The Packers have had the bye week to shake off the loss and prepare for this game, and have a strong betting history with a 7-0-1 ATS record in their last eight games coming out of the bye week. Green Bay is 10-3-1 ATS in its last 14 games as a home favorite.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Chicago 17.1, Green Bay 29.4

Chicago visits Green Bay at Lambeau Field at 8:30pm ET on Sunday night.

Not much has gone right for the Bears over the course of their current 1-4 SU and ATS skid. Jay Cutler has drawn criticism with six interceptions over the last five games and the defense has allowed 32 points per game including a 51-23 loss against New England in its last game. Chicago is just 1-7 ATS in its last eight games against Green Bay and 5-12 ATS in its last 17 road games against NFC North opponents.

The UNDER is 7-3 in Chicago’s last 10 road games against divisional opponents and 6-2 in Green Bay’s last eight games against divisional opponents. The total has also gone UNDER in five of the last six games between these two teams in Green Bay. Sunday night’s total is set at 53.5 points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Not only has Green Bay been the better team this season and in recent weeks, but the Packers also have a long history of dominating in NFC North games while the Bears have struggled. Look for Green Bay to win and cover as a 7-point favorite.
