Tony Romo probable for Sunday vs. Jaguars

Romo looks on schedule for a return after missing one game for a back injury.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo practiced in full Friday and is listed as probable to start Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London, England, according to Charean Williams. Romo missed last week while recovering from two broken bones in his back, which were suffered two weeks ago against Washington on Monday Night Football.

Romo practiced in a limited role Thursday, giving many hope he would suit up soon. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones was talkative during the session, telling reporters he believed Romo would be able to play Sunday.

Without Romo, the Cowboys turned to veteran backup Brandon Weeden against the Arizona Cardinals and lost 28-17 at AT&T Stadium. Romo's return should bring juice to the passing game, which sputtered to the tune of 183 yards last week. Romo has been solid this year, throwing for 1,998 yards and 15 touchdowns with only six interceptions.

Romo has dealt with back injuries before. In the offseason, Romo underwent two back surgeries and didn’t play any preseason snaps to allow for further recovery. While the injury sustained against Washington was to the same area, Romo insisted that the disks, which caused surgery, were not affected.
