Broncos vs. Raiders 2014 picks and predictions: Experts see Oakland remaining winless

No one believes in the Raiders.

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Despite getting curb stomped by the New England Patriots a week ago, the Denver Broncos remain one of the AFC's best teams. They take on the Oakland Raiders this week, a team with zero wins on the season.

At 6-2, Denver finds itself in the hunt for one of the conference's top playoff seeds. Peyton Manning, despite being 38 years old, remains one of the very best quarterbacks in the league. Earlier this season, he surpassed the legendary Brett Favre for most career touchdown passes. He also leads the conference in passer rating (112.0) and ranks second in both passing yards and touchdown passes. After weeks of struggling in the ground game, the Broncos have turned to Ronnie Hillman who has been stellar. He provides the necessary offensive balance to make Denver one of the most potent offenses in the league.

The Raiders meanwhile have struggled to do anything well. Their top running back Darren McFadden has gained only 358 rushing yards in half a season at a sub-4 clip. Neither James Jones nor Andre Holmes has produced No. 1 receiver numbers, with both falling short of 500 yards over the first half of the season. Quarterback Derek Carr has played well for a rookie, but he hasn't performed consistently enough for the team to overcome its porous defense.

The experts are all in on the Broncos this week. Every member of CBS Sports’ panel sided with them this week.

CBS Sports senior writer Pete Prisco had this to say about the game:

The Broncos are trying to regroup after taking the beating in New England last week. The Raiders are the perfect team for that. Denver will get it back cranked up again, and Peyton Manning won’t be saying he stunk after this one.

Likewise, here at SB Nation all seven experts are leaning towards Denver.
