The Miami Dolphins put the rest of the league on notice last week, dismantling the San Diego Chargers, 37-0, for their third consecutive win. They get the chance to prove they're a bona fide playoff contenders against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Both teams put their three-game win streaks on the line Sunday.

Ryan Tannehill continues to make strides. He completed more than 70 percent of his passes and threw for three touchdowns against the Chargers. Now he faces a top-ranked defense coming off a bye week and stocked with reinforcements. On Monday, Detroit announced it had reinstated previously suspended C.J. Mosley and activated linebacker Kyle Van Noy from injured reserve. Those two more pieces could contribute for a defense already allowing the fewest yards and points per game in the NFL.
Miami's defense isn't far behind, though. After last week's shutout, it is giving up just 18.9 points per game and could have another solid day against a Lions offense that has had problems without Calvin Johnson on the field. Matthew Stafford has been sporadic without his top target, though Golden Tate has helped pick up the slack, averaging eight catches and 116 yards per contest during Detroit's three-game win streak.
