The Arizona Cardinals are down to their third-string quarterback on Thursday Night Football. Drew Stanton limped off the field against the St. Louis Rams after being sacked midway through the third quarter and has been replaced by Ryan Lindley.
Drew Stanton injured, out for game
The Cardinals have turned to Ryan Lindley on “Thursday Night Football.”

UPDATE: The team has announced that Stanton will not return with a right knee injury.
Stanton, who has filled in under center since Carson Palmer went down for the season with an ACL tear, could not put any weight on the injured leg as he hopped off the field. He was looked at by training staff on the sideline before being carted into the locker room.
The injury occurred when Rams rookie defensive tackle Aaron Donald brought Stanton down awkwardly, and as another defender piled on, Stanton's leg bucked underneath him.
Surprisingly, the Cardinals chose not to turn to rookie Logan Thomas, the fourth-round pick who is listed as the backup on the official depth chart. Lindley, a former sixth-round pick, has not played in a game since 2012.
