Julio Jones inactive vs. Steelers

The NFL’s leading receiver is out with a hip injury in Week 15.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons' wide receiver Julio Jones is officially inactive Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jones, who missed practice all week and was listed as questionable coming into Week 15, is dealing with a hip injury he suffered late in a loss to the Green Bay Packers Monday night.

Before leaving in the fourth quarter, Jones put together a huge game, catching 11 passes for a career-high 259 yards and adding a touchdown. This season, the fourth-year receiver leads the NFL with 1,428 yards and is second in receptions with 93, trailing only the Steelers’ Antonio Brown.

With Jones out, Matt Ryan and Atlanta's fifth-ranked passing offense will look to veteran receivers Roddy White and Harry Douglas, who have a combined 1,054 yards this season. The game against the Steelers has major playoff implications for both teams. Pittsburgh is tied for second in a crowded AFC North division, while the Falcons, despite their 5-8 record, are clinging to the top spot in the NFC South.
