Jake Locker leaves game with shoulder injury

Charlie Whitehurst is now in at quarterback for the Titans.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker left Sunday's game against the New York Jets with an injury to his left (non-throwing) shoulder.

Locker hurt his shoulder during the second quarter when linebacker Quinton Coples pressed the quarterback into the turf after a pass. Tennessee's medical staff immediately took him to the locker room for further evaluation. Locker is officially questionable to return according to the team. Before the injury, he had completed six of his 11 passes for 57 yards.

If Locker is unable to return, he'll be the second Titans quarterback in as many games lost to a shoulder injury. Zach Mettenberger hurt his right shoulder during a 36-7 loss to the New York Giants last week. That leaves Charlie Whitehurst as the only healthy quarterback on Tennessee's roster. Whitehurst replaced Locker in the second quarter and figures to finish there game there. It is unclear who would replace Whitehurst if he too suffered an injury.
