Eagles vs. Washington 2014 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Philadelphia attempts to regain a playoff spot, while Washington searches for its fourth win of a miserable season.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 9-5, but on the outside of the playoff picture. Despite having a superb year, the Eagles are second in the NFC East after losing to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. With a win Saturday against Washington and a loss by the Cowboys against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, Philadelphia could jump back into the third seed.

For the Eagles, it has been a rollercoaster season. Philadelphia was cruising along until Week 9 when Nick Foles broke his collarbone against the Houston Texans, allowing for the entrance of Mark Sanchez. At first, Sanchez looked like a new man under head coach Chip Kelly, but the problems with ball security have emerged again. Sanchez has thrown nine interceptions, including two in three of his last five games.

LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin have carried the offense. McCoy got off to a slow start but has been fantastic down the stretch, rushing for 1,132 yards and catching another 24 passes. Maclin is leading the Eagles with 1,207 receiving yards including 18 explosive plays and 10 touchdowns. Rookie receiver Jordan Matthews out of Vanderbilt has also contributed, hauling in 56 passes for 709 yards and seven scores.

Washington will try to contain Philadelphia, although recent play suggests that will be difficult. Washington has not won since Oct. 27 in Dallas. This week, Robert Griffin III will get the start after coming in to relieve Colt McCoy, who aggravated a neck injury, last week against the New York Giants. Griffin played well, completing 18 of 27 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Washington might have a tough time limiting Maclin and Matthews down the field. Washington ranks 17th against the pass and seventh against the run, meaning the Eagles’ aerial attack has a good chance of being effective.
