Giants vs. Rams 2014 picks and predictions: Experts favor St. Louis in Week 16 matchup

The St. Louis Rams are heavily favored to best the New York Giants, at least according to experts around the Internet.

Both the New York Giants and St. Louis Rams are well out of the playoff race, but there's still interesting aspects to their Week 16 matchup. For instance, the Rams have been playing solid defense of late, and haven't allowed a touchdown in three consecutive games. As a counter to that, Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. caught three touchdown passes in Week 15 against Washington.

New York has won its last two games, beating the Tennessee Titans in Week 14 and Washington in Week 15. Beckham caught 12 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns against Washington. He now has 71 receptions for 972 yards and nine touchdowns on the season, despite playing in just 10 games thus far. He'll be a huge test for St. Louis' defense.

That defense ranks No. 12 against the rush and No. 11 against the pass in the league. They allow 232.4 passing yards per game on average, but despite playing well and not allowing a touchdown, the Rams fell to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15. Before that, they shut out the Oakland Raiders and Washington in consecutive weeks.

Given the recent strong play, it’s no surprise that many experts think the Rams will win this one. Eleven of the 13 experts picking for ESPN are picking the Rams. Six of the eight picking for CBS Sports are also going with the Rams, while four of the six at FOX Sports are doing the same.

Here at SB Nation, none of the experts picking are going with the Giants to win it. All eight believe the Rams will take this one.
