Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray will play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Murray underwent surgery Monday to repair a broken bone in his left hand after sustaining the injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.

The Cowboys can clinch the NFC East with a win against the Colts, so having Murray is a major boost. The star back is leading the league in rushing yards with 1,687 yards on 4.8 yards per carry, along with his 395 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Although he will have to wear a pad to protect his hand, Murray gives the Cowboys a dynamic player out of the backfield to take the pressure off Tony Romo. He'll still likely be somewhat limited, meaning backups Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar could see an increased workload.
The Cowboys are 10-4 and looking for their first playoff berth since 2009. If they secure a spot, there's a chance Murray and other key players could sit out next week against Washington, per Rapoport. The team is reportedly worried about Murray's pass-blocking abilities with the injured hand.
