Eagles vs. Giants 2014 picks and predictions: No clear favorite according to experts

Neither team has anything to play for on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles' season effectively ended during Week 16 with a loss to Washington and a Dallas Cowboys win over the Indianapolis Colts, which eliminated Philly from playoff contention. Still, the Eagles could finish with 10 wins by defeating the New York Giants on Sunday.

When the Eagles took down the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, the NFC East appeared to be their division to win. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, they haven't won a game since. They dropped a close game to the Seattle Seahawks at home before turning around and losing another to Dallas at home. Their season could still have been salvaged, but a surprise defeat at the hands of Robert Griffin III all but knocked them out. While no one party is solely responsible for the Eagles demise, it's hard not to look at Mark Sanchez. The quarterback turned the ball over in every game during the currently losing streak and played poorly overall against Dallas and Seattle.

However, their season finale against the Giants could end the year on a high note. New York was shut out by the Eagles in their first matchup of the season back in Week 6. That defeat sent the Giants in a downward spiral, losing their next six games. That said, they've won each of their last three. Eli Manning has quietly rebounded during that stretch, throwing seven touchdowns against only one interception. If he doesn't throw a pick this week, Manning will have cut his 2013 total in half.

The experts appear split on who will emerge victorious Sunday. Five of CBS Sports’ eight-man panel sided with Giants.

Meanwhile, here at SB Nation, five of our eight experts are picking the Eagles.
