Roy Helu Jr. goes behind the back on end-around fake
You don’t see this often from NFL running backs.
Roy Helu Jr. got the Cowboys on this one. On a run to the right, he faked the handoff to a wide receiver streaking across the formation, normally something a QB does. And he held the ball behind his back convincingly enough that several Cowboys bought it.
The only time we can recall a player successfully hiding the ball behind his back on an end-around was on this fake punt in a 2009 preseason game. It’s a tricky maneuver. It worked for 14 yards, so congrats on the niftiness.
