Aaron Rodgers sets passing record in 100th-career start

Making his 100th career start Monday, Aaron Rodgers now has more passing yards than any player in NFL history over the same number of starts.

Aaron Rodgers made his 100th career start against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, and he managed to make some history when he did so. The prolific Green Bay Packers quarterback eclipsed 293 yards passing in the game against Atlanta, which means he has more passing yards than any player in NFL history over his first 100 starts.

The pass that put him over the mark was a 60-yard bomb to Jordy Nelson that went for a touchdown:

The previous mark of 27,485 yards was held by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. That's an impressive stat, but Rodgers has plenty of excellent stats to his name these days. He also went into the game Monday with 219 touchdown passes as a starter, the most of any quarterback in his first 100 starts.

He only had 54 interceptions against those touchdowns coming into this game, which comes out to a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 4.06. That number is almost double the ratio for the next-best player in Donovan McNabb (2.13). That list also includes Tom Brady (2.10), Philip Rivers (2.07) and Romo (2.03).

Rogers has the Packers at 9-3 this season, and they’re well on their way to moving into double-digit victories as they have a big lead over the Falcons at the time of writing. That would move them to 10-3, tied with a few other elite teams for the best record in the NFL. Rodgers had completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,325 yards with 32 touchdowns and just three interceptions coming into Monday.
