Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden wants to play elsewhere in 2014, according to NFL.com. Weeden is reportedly seeking a trade and is ready for "a change of scenery." This news comes after team owner Jimmy Haslam announced even more organizational changes Tuesday, including the firing of general manager Michael Lombardi and CEO Joe Banner.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden doesn’t think sticking around the team is the best way to pursue a healthy career.

A source told NFL.com’s Michael Silver that Weeden is reportedly interested in a “fresh start, with a clean slate and an opportunity to compete to show he has the talent to develop into a productive player in the league.”
The Browns organization is not a stable environment at the moment. Weeden is currently set to play under his third head coach in Mike Pettine, his third general manager in Ray Farmer and third offensive coordinator in fewer than two years.
Many have said that Lombardi and Chudzinski were not given enough time to demonstrate that they should be in charge. To expect Weeden to develop and grow in such an environment may have been asking too much.
Then again, Weeden was also viewed as a desperation pick by the most recent regime. He was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and the other player who was taken by Cleveland in that round, Trent Richardson, has already been traded away. Weeden had a so-so rookie season, completing 57.4 percent of his passes for 3,385 yards, 14 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
This past season, Weeden was benched multiple times but injuries forced him into action in eight games. In those games, Weeden posted a 52.8 completion percentage, and had 1,731 yards with nine passing touchdowns and nine interceptions. Many assumed he wasn’t in the running to start in 2014, anyway, so it makes sense that he wants out. At 30 years old, it’s unclear what teams might be interested in his services, however.
