Michael Lombardi to get Patriots personnel job, per reports
The former general manager of the Cleveland Browns will join the New England Patriots front office according to several reports.

UPDATE 8:32 a.m. Thursday: NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that Lombardi has discussed joining the Patriots, but that there's "nothing firm or official yet."
Longtime NFL executive Michael Lombardi is reportedly set to join the front office of the New England Patriots, according to multiple reports. Lombardi served as the GM of the Cleveland Browns in 2013.

News broke Wednesday evening thanks to a tweet from Daryl Ruiter, who covers the Browns for 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, saying Lombardi is expected to take a personnel job with the Patriots, though his exact title has yet to be determined.
Lombardi’s departure from the Browns took place on the same day that team CEO Joe Banner stepped down.
Another “smooth” offseason for the Browns, who are considered one of the worst-run franchises in the NFL.
Lombardi began his NFL career in 1984 as a scout for the San Francisco 49ers and moved his way up the ranks working as a consultant and director of pro personnel for the Eagles and Rams, a senior personnel executive for the Raiders and the general manager and VP of player personnel of the Browns in 2013. He was replaced by Ray Farmer earlier this week.
Lombardi also spent some time writing for Sports Illustrated and NFL.com, along with some TV work with CBS, Inside the NFL and the NFL Network.
