2014 NFL Combine: Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel headline list of players arriving on day two

While no players are taking the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, several that could be top ten picks are set to arrive arrive in Indianapolis.

Day 2 of the 2014 NFL Combine features the arrival of groups four, five and six to Indianapolis. These groups include all the quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs invited to participate in the combine, which means the potential top two picks in the draft are set to be in the building.

Nineteen quarterbacks are attending the combine, including Central Florida's Blake Bortles and Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel. Bortles and Manziel are at the top of many mock drafts, including the one here at SB Nation, but neither is expected to throw at the combine. In fact, only three QB's in attendance are expected to take part in passing drills.

The Houston Texans, holders of the first overall pick, are expected to select either Bortles or Manziel.

Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans lead a group of 48 pass catchers who will be put through the ringer by doctors, psychologists and team officials. Watkins, a 6-1, 205 pound receiver from Clemson is the best wideout available in the draft though Texas A&M's Mike Evans is a potential top ten pick as well.

There are 36 running backs invited to the combine, and for the second straight season, it's a group missing any big first-round locks. No running back went off the board in the first round of last year's draft, and there's a good chance the same thing will happen in 2014. If one is to go on the draft's first day, Ka'Deem Carey, Lache Seastrunk and Bishop Sankey are the most likely candidates.

Breaking down SB Nation's latest mock draft

All these players will arrive in Indianapolis on Thursday and face a busy deal that includes a combine registration and orientation. They’ll also undergo a basic hospital pre-exam and x-rays to give doctors a chance to identify any issues that should preclude players from participating in workouts and drills. Team interviews will also begin as representatives of various clubs will begin talking with players they could potentially be targeting in the draft.

Players from groups four, five and six will take the field on Sunday for timing, stations and position specific drills.
