Day 5 of the 2014 NFL Combine has arrived, which means it's time for the most hyped events of the whole process: on-field workouts for quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs. If you plan on tuning in at all, this is the day to do it, as big names like Blake Bortles, Teddy Bridgewater, Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans will be running through skill drills.
NFL Combine 2014: Schedule, TV info and preview for Day 5
The glamour positions take the field as quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs go through on-field workouts.
Those of you hoping to get a glimpse of Johnny Manziel going through drills are out of luck -- the Texas A&M phenom has elected not to throw during the combine, a common practice among highly-regarded quarterback prospects not wanting to damage their stock with an off-day. Manziel will instead wait for his pro day to show scouts his arm.
There will still be plenty to watch during NFL Network’s exclusive Day 5 coverage. One of the most intriguing drills of the entire combine is The Gauntlet, a high-paced catching workout that wide receivers run through to show their hand-eye-coordination and awareness. Quarterbacks will be throwing route trees to demonstrate their accuracy, arm strength and footwork.
Sunday also marks the interviews and bench press for the defensive line and linebackers, a group that includes potential No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney. Defensive backs will go through measurements and medical evaluations.
