The defensive linemen watched on Sunday as those prima donna, glory hound quarterbacks (their words, not mine) ran through drills for scouts at the NFL Combine, but now it's time for the big fellas to show their ability to get after the aforementioned passers.
2014 NFL Combine: Schedule, TV info and preview for Day 6
Jadeveon Clowney and Michael Sam highlight a group of defensive linemen and linebackers going through drills on Monday.
Defensive linemen and linebackers take the field for skills workouts on Day 6. The man that will have all the attention and the focus of the NFL Network TV cameras is South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, a potential target of the Houston Texans with the No. 1 overall pick. Even a poor showing wouldn't likely have much of an effect on his draft stock, but his performance is still worth keeping an eye on.
Notre Dame's Louis Nix and Missouri's Kony Ealy are also defensive linemen worth tracking on Monday. Michael Sam, Ealy's Mizzou teammate who is likely to become the first openly gay player to play in the NFL, will be working out with the d-lineman as well. He'll be hoping to improve his projection of a fourth or fifth-round pick.
Defensive backs will also be active as they go through bench press workouts and interviews.
You can watch live coverage of the Day 6 on NFL Network.
