Denver Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. missed the final two games of the postseason after tearing his ACL in the Divisional round of the playoffs, and will now have knee surgery on Thursday to repair the damage, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Harris, 24, was the full-time starter for the Broncos opposite cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie during the 2013 season and was replaced in the AFC Championship and Super Bowl by Champ Bailey. In 16 games and 15 starts in the 2013 regular season, Harris accumulated three interceptions and 13 passes defended.

On Monday, Harris revealed to Klis that the tear wasn’t too significant and that he suffered only a 30 percent tear of his ACL:

“I can do everything,” Harris said as he rolled his luggage bag down the corridor of the team’s hotel Monday morning. “It’s just structurally where they wouldn’t let me play.”

An undrafted free agent in 2011, Harris played in a reserve role as a rookie before taking over as a starter for the Broncos in 2012. In January, Jon Heath of SB Nation’s Broncos blog, Mile High Report, made the argument that Harris deserved an invite to the Pro Bowl.
