Nick Collins hopes to return to NFL
Despite suffering a devastating neck injury in 2011, Nick Collins is hoping to continue his NFL career next season.

Former Packers defensive back Nick Collins isn't quite ready to give up his NFL career yet. He indicated on his Twitter page that he's ready to make a comeback for the 2014 season:
Who's looking for a top notch free safety. This kid is ready to dominate #2014
— Nick Collins (@nickdapick36) February 4, 2014 Collins’ NFL career came to an abrupt end in the 2011 season, when he suffered a herniated disc that pressed up against his spinal cord. He underwent cervical fusion surgery, but team doctors wouldn’t clear him to play and the Packers released him in 2012. Later that year, Collins’ agent said that his career was probably over, and he hasn’t seen any interest from a team since then.
Before the injury, Collins was a star player on the Packers’ defense, going to three Pro Bowls in six seasons after being drafted in 2005. He still wants to continue his career, feeling like the Packers unfairly gave up on him too early. Collins’ spirit is admirable, but he’s unlikely to find a team willing to take a chance on a 30-year-old who hasn’t played in almost three years and will have a hard time getting medical clearance.
