Following his arrest for possession of a controlled substance and operating while intoxicated, Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay voluntarily checked into a treatment facility, according to a team release.

Not long after being arrested for possession of a controlled substance, Jim Irsay checked into a treatment facility.

Irsay was pulled over early Monday morning and police allegedly found prescription drugs in his car. He was charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance while also being charged for operating while intoxicated. He was released from jail on Monday and tweeted appreciation for the support he received from fans, colleagues and others.
According to the release from the Colts, Irsay checked into a “highly-respected heath care facility” on Monday and is committed to undergoing the treatment needed to “help him meet his challenges head-on.”
The immediate focus is on Irsay’s health, however, he could still face legal ramifications and discipline from the NFL. Owners are also subject to discipline for violations of the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Here is the complete statement from the Colts:
