The police report concerning Colts owner Jim Irsay's arrest has come out following a public records request by the Indianapolis Star's Tim Evans, and the details are staggering.

Irsay, who was pulled over by Carmel Police on the evening of March 16, was found to have multiple prescription drugs in his car, including Xanax, Darvocet, Valium, Ambien and Ativan, according to the arrest report. Irsay also had $29,029 in the Toyota Highlander he was driving. Most of the cash was found in a briefcase and laundry bag, which also contained the prescription drugs.

Irsay was pulled over at 11:40 p.m. by an officer who observed his vehicle traveling at 10 miles per hour in a 35 MPH zone. Irsay then stopped his car multiple times for no apparent reason before making a right-hand turn without signaling, at which time he was pulled over, per the Indianapolis Star:

“I asked him if he knew why I pulled him over,” the officer wrote in his report. “Irsay advised that he was trying to find his house and gets confused with what road it is located on.”

At that point, Irsay was given a bevy of field tests of which he failed. He could not stand sufficiently on his own, needing the assistance of officers, according to the police report. Irsay also had watery, red eyes and slurred speech. The Colts owner also declined taking a blood test at the scene. By Indiana law, it is mandatory that his driving license is suspended for a year.

Irsay has not been formally charged with anything, but was held on four preliminary drug charges of possession of a controlled substance, all of which are felonies. If charged with those crimes, Irsay could face up to 12 years in prison should each carry the maximum sentence.

Irsay is currently in a rehab facility to get treatment for his addictions.
