When DeSean Jackson was cut by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, the move sent shockwaves throughout the NFL.

One of the best players in football had been cut loose in his prime, despite the Eagles having ample money to keep him around. Then, news began circulating that Jackson might have ties to the Crips, a gang from Los Angeles. Jackson has denied the accusations, but the claims had been made and the damage done.

Still, teams have been lining up for Jackson's services. Over the weekend, many thought Jackson would wind up with either the Kansas City Chiefs and old coach Andy Reid or the Oakland Raiders, Jackson's hometown team. While Oakland is still in the race, Kansas City dropped out.
The Washington Redskins emerged on Saturday night as a new favorite, having scheduled a meeting with him on Monday, with it expected to last into Tuesday, per Ian Rapoport. Still, the Redskins are reportedly not looking to sign Jackson to a major contract, per the Washington Post.
Kerrigan on the mend
Speaking of the Redskins, outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is progressing nicely after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to CSN Washington.
"It’s going well," Kerrigan said Saturday night at Comcast Center, where he co-hosted a celebrity basketball game with Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith. "I’m feeling pretty much 100-percent."
Last year, Kerrigan notched 8.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. In 2012, Kerrigan also had 8.5 sacks and an interception. In three seasons, Kerrigan has never missed a game.
Jets in on Johnson?
The New York Jets signed Eric Decker but have been otherwise very quiet this offseason, despite having loads of cap space. Most figured they would be all-in on the Jackson sweepstakes, but general manager John Idzik has stayed away from the situation.

That said, rumor has it New York would potentially be interested in running back Chris Johnson should he be made available, according to Ian Rapoport. The Jets could really use a runner with credentials after watching Chris Ivory lead the team with 833 yards.
Johnson has been a very productive player throughout his six years, always rushing for at least 1,000 yards every season. Johnson is still a member of the Tennessee Titans, but they are expected to release him to avoid his $10 million cap hit this season.

At some point early in the offseason, the Tennessee Titans may have considered using Chris Johnson under Whisenhunt. He isn't one of Whiz's prototypical running backs, but given his durability and past production he could have been kept on. However, after not budging on his statement that he wasn't willing to take a pay cut, the market for Johnson may be small to nonexistent.
Also, the Jets re-signed linebacker Nick Bellore, per his Twitter. Bellore has 46 tackles in his three-year career with New York.
Titans unlikely to pick up Locker’s option
The Tennessee Titans are starting new again under coach Ken Whisenhunt, but Jake Locker apparently only has one more year to prove himself as the team's starting quarterback.
Locker is entering his fourth campaign, and his contract has an option clause for a fifth season, reportedly something the Titans are unlikely to pick up, per the Tennessean.
Locker only played in seven games in 2013 due to foot and hip injuries. He was playing well last season, throwing eight touchdowns against four interceptions and completing 60.7 percent of his passes before getting hurt. The injury bug has plagued Locker throughout his career, as the former first-round pick has never played more than 11 games in an NFL season.
