TCU cornerback Jason Verrett is getting ready to undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum, according to Mike Hugeunin of NFL.com. Verrett played with the injury throughout most of the 2013 campaign, and still participated in TCU's Pro Day on Thursday.

Will the Falcons pull off the biggest blockbuster trade of the draft to snag Jadeveon Clowney? The move makes too much sense, according to Matthew Fairburn. Verrett is rated as a first round draft pick on most boards, along with corners Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert, Bradley Roby of Ohio State, Michigan State's Marqueze Dennard, and Virginia Tech's Kyle Fuller. With the shoulder going down in March, Verrett should be back on the field in time for the start of training camp in July.
At 5'9' and 189 pounds, Verrett's durability might be a question mark in the heads of NFL general managers going into the NFL Draft this May. With Dennard and Gilbert being the bigger, more physical type of corner, it will be interesting to see if Verrett goes behind both of them. In Mike Mayock's projections, Verrett is rated fifth, dropping behind Roby post-combine.
