Colin Kaepernick under investigation for ‘suspicious incident’
Colin Kaepernick is being investigated by Miami police for a ‘suspicious incident,’ according to reports. No charges have been filed and details are unclear.

The investigation was confirmed by Natalie Alund of MercuryNews.com. The 49ers released a statement acknowledging they are aware of the situation. Via CSN Bay Area:
“The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts,” the 49ers said in a statement.

According to the Miami police report, current 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and former 49ers receiver Ricardo Lockette were also involved. The incident occurred April 1 when a woman went back with Lockette to his Miami apartment. Kaepernick and Patton were already there. The woman, who had a previous sexual relationship with Kaepernick, made and served drinks and shots to the players, who "told her that in order to drink the shots she had to 'hit' the bong which contained marijuana."

According to the woman, the two did not have sex and she does not remember if Kaepernick returned.
Lockette and Patton reportedly opened the door to the bedroom to peek inside, at which point the woman asked “what are you doing? Where is Colin?” and told the men to get out. She woke up the next morning in a hospital bed and could not remember any further details of the night after telling the men to leave, including how she got to the hospital.
TMZ reported that Kaepernick was in Miami as recently as April 5 and was spotted hanging out with a wedding party.
Kaepernick has never been documented running afoul of the law in the past, whether in college or with the 49ers. Until Thursday, most of the headlines he appeared in were concerned with his on-field play, his tattoos or his choice of hat orientation.
David Fucillo at 49ers blog Niners Nation cautioned against reading too much into the investigation:
More importantly, even if an investigation is going on, it’s impossible to know what the allegations could mean. Michael Crabtree was accused of sexual assault following the 49ers 2013 playoff win over the Packers (before facing the Falcons). There was an investigation, but charges were never filed.
