NFL Draft results 2014: Bryan Stork taken by Patriots

Stork will bring some youth and versatility to the Pats’ offensive interior.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots have drafted Florida State Seminoles center Bryan Stork with the 105th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Stork was unranked on SB Nation's top 200 big board and ranked No. 7 out of all centers.

Stork began his Seminole career with a redshirt year and spent time at both guard positions in his freshman and sophomore seasons. It wasn’t until the third game of his sophomore season that Stork finally earned snaps at the center position where he’d end up anchoring the FSU line in his final two seasons, earning consensus All-American honors as a senior en route to a BCS National Championship victory.

Stork elected not to participate in anything other than weigh-ins at the 2014 NFL Combine, instead choosing to perform at the FSU Pro Day. While he possesses ideal size for a center, perhaps with the exception of arm length, his athleticism and strength were underwhelming. Stork also suffered injuries to his knee and both shoulders that could possibly be to blame for the poor workout numbers and the decision to pass on Combine participation.

Combine results

Height: 6’4

Weight: 315

Bench press: 21

40-yard dash (pro day): 5.44

20-yard shuttle run (pro day): 5.02
