The day wouldn't be complete without a story about dysfunction and the Cleveland Browns. Days after winning the goodwill of fans by selecting Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, the coaching staff there is already making "Hollywood" comments to the rookie.
Browns tell Johnny Manziel ‘this is not Hollywood’
Cleveland head coach Mike Pettine offered his rookie quarterback a geography lesson.

#browns haslam said Manziel has been told things like "you're the backup" and "this is not Hollywood." He said "Brian Hoyer is the starter"

There’s nothing at all surprising or out of the ordinary about the rookie being a backup three days after he was drafted. Earning your spot is a timeless NFL trope. It’s also kind of a joke because it fails to take into account that teams and coaches really do make roster decisions based on draft status and contract values ... and an owner’s preference for who plays.
Manziel’s Wonderlic score was high enough that we can be confident he’s well aware the differences between Cleveland and Hollywood. Someone should also remind Mike Pettine that the NFL is an entertainment business, a television show that makes his bosses very rich.
