Wide receiver Brandon Marshall signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with the Chicago Bears on Monday morning ... and he did it live on ABC's The View. The Bears have made the extension official, according to Kevin Fishbain of Shaw Media.

Not only did Marshall sign a deal that pays him $40 million through 2017, he did it live on “The View.”

Marshall, who earned his third consecutive Pro Bowl nod in 2013, had one year remaining on his previous deal before making the announcement. He’s now under contract through 2017 for almost $40 million, $23 million of which is guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Michael C. Wright.
The star wideout was on The View discussing mental health -- an issue he’s been an outspoken and ardent supporter of -- when he made the surprise announcement. He tweeted the details of the contract shortly after and pledged $1 million to the mental health community.

It's the second big extension the Bears have handed out this offseason, having locked down quarterback Jay Cutler with a seven-year deal back in January. Marshall has flourished playing alongside Cutler, going over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns in each of his first two seasons in Chicago.
