New York Giants safety Will Hill has been suspended six games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, according to NFL.com's Marc Sessler. Hill's suspension comes just a few hours after Daryl Washington was suspended for the season for yet another violation of the substance abuse policy -- in Washington's instance, using marijuana.
Will Hill suspended 6 games for violating NFL substance abuse policy
Will Hill has earned a multiple-game suspension for the third year in a row, this time for his second violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy in as many offseasons.

It’s not yet known what Hill did to earn a suspension. He has found himself in violation of the substance abuse policy before, sitting out the first four games of the 2013 season. Hill also sat out the first four games of the 2012 season for reportedly using Adderall, which is considered a performance-enhancing drug by the NFL.
Hill has only appeared in three NFL seasons after going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft. Despite his off-field trouble -- he was also arrested last December on a warrant for outstanding child support -- Hill has managed to carve out a starting role in New York. Last season, he had two forced fumbles and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown to go with 77 tackles.
With Hill out, the Giants may call upon the recently-signed C.J. Barnett to fill in next to Antrel Rolle. Stevie Brown may also be able to fill in as a versatile defender in the backfield.
As for Hill, he'll be eligible to return Oct. 13 right after the Giants play the Philadelphia Eagles and just before they take on the Dallas Cowboys. According to Tom Rock of New York Newsday, however, Hill may not stick on the roster long enough to play again.
Giants have put a lot of time and energy into trying to keep Will Hill clean. This third suspension likely ends his Giants career.
