NFL Draft 2014: Time, TV schedule and more for Round 1
The 2014 NFL Draft is just minutes away. Here’s a primer to help you prepare, including the start time, TV schedule and full draft order for the first round.
You can count the minutes now to the start of the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. It may take you a while, depending on when you're reading this, but it's not inconceivable that you might while away an hour by ticking off 60-second increments until the Houston Texans are, finally, on the clock. A better use of time would be to set your watch then go do something else for a while, however. Here's some vital information to help you:

Thanks to a Rockettes show that was ultimately cancelled, the NFL Draft had to be kicked back to the second weekend in May, extending what has annually been a gruelingly long slog of hot takes and rumor-mongering. This year’s deep class -- filled with prize quarterbacks, and perhaps one of the best physical specimens in years in Jadeveon Clowney -- has provoked no shortage of opinions. Several teams are projected to trade within the first round, setting up what could be a fascinating few hours Thursday evening.
The Texans will kick off proceedings. Though they were reported for some time to be looking to trade out of the No. 1 overall pick, Adam Schefter indicated earlier in the day Thursday that Houston has locked in its pick. Whether the team sticks to that plan is anyone’s guess. Even less clear is what’s going to happen at No. 2 and beyond.
SB Nation’s team of draft experts have tried their best to make sense of everything, with their own scouting reports, player rankings and weekly mock drafts. Those resources are invaluable if you still need a primer on what to expect. Otherwise, you can be sure that ESPN and NFL Network are already talking about what may or may not happen. If you would rather avoid the bloat, you can look at the first-round draft order below to see where to expect your team to make its first selection Thursday:
