NFL Draft results 2014: Buccaneers take Charles Sims in 3rd round
Sims had an excellent career at West Virginia, and now takes his talents to Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected running back Charles Sims from West Virginia with their third round pick (No. 69 overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Sims was a very productive player during his time in Morgantown, rushing for 1,095 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior season after transferring to West Virginia from Houston. As a junior, Sims ran for 851 yards on 6.0 yards per carry, while totaling another 11 scores.
Perhaps Sims’ best skill is his ability to catch the ball. Sims amassed 203 receptions over his four-year college career, including 45 last season. As a freshman, Sims caught 70 passes for 759 yards.
Sims garnered national acclaim at West Virginia after playing in the shadows of Conference USA. The 6’, 213-pound back was named to the Big 12 First-Team, along with winning the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year award. Sims came in at No. 86 on SB Nation’s top 200 big board, making him fifth among running backs.
