NFL Draft results 2014: Jeremy Hill goes to Bengals, 2nd running back taken
Hill is the second running back taken in the NFL Draft, going No. 55 overall to the Bengals.
The Cincinnati Bengals selected LSU running back Jeremy Hill with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Hill was SB Nation's No. 116 overall player in this year's draft class, and the 12th-best running back.
Hill was a rumbler for the Tigers, racking up 1,401 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns on 203 carries. He held off other talented runners like Terrence Magee and Alfred Blue to become the team's primary ball-carrier, and had no problem with the load, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. For his efforts, Hill was named Second-Team All-SEC last season.
Hill is a big man who moves well for his size. He isn’t the most fleet of foot, however, so he may never be a home run threat in the NFL. He proved he can handle a heavy load, though, and he should have plenty of wear left in his legs with only one season of being a true No. 1 running back. Hill has the size to take a pounding, and is developed enough to contribute as a rookie if need be.
