NFL Draft 2014: Stephon Tuitt taken by Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 46
Tuitt is hoping to come in and make an immediate impact in Pittsburgh

With the No. 46 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers have taken Notre Dame Fighting Irish defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt. Tuitt is ranked at No. 34 overall among prospects on SB Nation's top 200 big board, and he's listed as the fourth-best defensive tackle.
Tuitt started all 13 games in 2013, recording 49 tackles, including nine for a loss. In 2012, Tuitt really earned his stripes when he became a starting defensive end for Notre Dame during its run to the National Championship game. Tuitt notched 47 tackles (13 for loss) to help form a dominant defensive front.
At 6’5 and 304 pounds, Tuitt has the ideal size for either a 3-4 defensive end or 4-3 tackle. The major question about Tuitt is his ability to run with NFL-caliber players. Tuitt has not always shown the quickness off the line, but could develop it over time with coaching.
Tuitt did not do drills at the combine because of a fractured foot, which required surgery on March 1, per NFL.com.
