NFL Draft order 2014: Texans lead off 2nd round, Redskins make their 1st pick

We’ve got the complete order for the second and third rounds.

USA TODAY Sports

SB Nation 2014 NFL Draft

With the first day of the 2014 NFL Draft in the books, Day 2 kicks off on Friday with the second and third rounds. TV coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and NFL Network, with the Houston Texans officially going on the clock with the first pick of the night at 7 p.m.

After trading out of the first round on Thursday, the Super Bowl Champion Seahawks are expected to finally join the party, with two picks in the second round. Seattle traded the No. 32 pick for the No. 40 selection and a fourth-round pick. The Cardinals and Eagles also picked up extra Day 2 picks, with Arizona acquiring an extra third round pick from New Orleans and Philadelphia picking up Cleveland’s third-round choice.

Brandon Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation explains what the Eagles might look to do with their extra third-round pick.

There are a few other differences between the order of the first and second rounds, the most notable of which is the presence of the Washington Redskins. Washington makes its first pick of the draft after trading its first rounder to the St. Louis Rams, a residual effect of the 2012 Robert Griffin III trade. Another notable difference at the top is the Jacksonville Jaguars picking at No. 7 after picking at No. 3 in the first round.

The Vikings traded out of the second round and the Chief’s won’t pick in the round either. Their No. 56 overall pick belongs to the San Francisco 49ers. Compensatory picks kick in at the end of the third round, leading with the No. 97 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here’s the full order for the second and third rounds, with the overall draft number in parentheses:
