Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver and former Oklahoma State player Justin Blackmon was arrested Wednesday night in Edmond, Ok., for possession of marijuana, as reported by Oklahoma News 9.
Justin Blackmon arrested for marijuana possession
The Jaguars wide receiver’s series of off-field missteps continues.

Blackmon was stopped for a traffic violation when attending officers noted the smell of marijuana. That prompted a search of Blackmon’s car. The police did not report the amount of marijuana discovered in his car.

— Stephen White (@sgw94) July 24, 2014 This is arrest number three for Blackmon, who was picked up for a DUI in Texas in 2010 and another in Oklahoma in 2012, when he blew a .26 blood-alcohol level. He was suspended twice in 2013 for two violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy within the span of six months. He played just four games last season.
Currently, Blackmon is suspended indefinitely for his violations of the substance abuse policy. Blackmon has not been in touch with the Jaguars for most of the offseason, and at one time was reportedly in rehab for his issues. Jacksonville appears ready to move on, taking receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson in the second round of the NFL Draft this May.
Even before the latest arrest, Jaguars general manager David Caldwell stated that he does not expect Blackmon to play in 2014. Balckmon's contract is no longer guaranteed because of his suspensions, which will allow the Jaguars to cut him if they choose to take that course of action.
