Sure, joint preseason practices seem like a good idea. And it seems like a good idea to invite fans to take part in the experience. A joint Raiders-Cowboys practice turned ugly when a big hit by Morris Claiborne led to a brawl that involved fans and swinging helmets.

The Cowboys and Raiders shared a practice field Tuesday, and invited roughly 8,000 fans to attend. At one point, Morris Claiborne laid a big hit on tight end Mychal Rivera, and things got a little out of control.
In the scrum, a Raiders fans took a swing at Cowboys cornerback B.W. Webb with a helmet, which didn't help matters.
After practice, Webb told USA Today that he didn’t realize it was a fan when he turned and started shoving. He felt the helmet hit him and simply started swinging.
“That’s definitely a dangerous situation,” Webb said. “I don’t know why fans would want to jump on this side of the fence. I don’t think they’d like it too much on this side.”
Seriously you guys, chill.
